DMARC Reporting

    Overview

Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) is an email authentication protocol that helps protect your domain from spoofing and phishing attacks. Through our partnership with Red Sift, Mailgun provides DMARC monitoring and reporting capabilities to help secure your email domains. This article explains how to set up and use DMARC with your Mailgun account

    Feature Availability:
Aggregate DMARC Reporting is available on the following plans:
    • Basic
    • Foundation
    • Scale
    • Contract
    • Enterprise
    • Pilot
    • Starter

    Configuring DMARC

Mailgun simplifies the DMARC implementation process by automatically generating the necessary DNS record during domain setup. You can access this DMARC record in two ways:

    • When adding a new domain to your Mailgun account
    • By visiting the DNS page of an existing Mailgun sending domain

The DMARC record is generated alongside all other required DNS records, making the domain setup process straightforward and comprehensive.

    Accepting Red Sift's terms

Before a DMARC record can be generated, you must agree to the Red Sift end user license agreement on the Mailgun DNS page:

    Authentication Records EULA Agreement

Once you accept the terms, the DMARC record will be available for use with all domains on your account.

    Viewing your DMARC record

Your DMARC record is generated on the Mailgun DNS page along with other required DNS records:

    Authentication Records

Add this record to your domain's DNS settings according to your DNS provider's instructions.

    Monitoring DMARC reports

After your DMARC record is published and reports begin arriving, you can monitor your email authentication performance through the Mailgun Optimize DMARC reporting page.
