Mailgun's dashboard now lets you build a home page that's tailored to your role and the metrics you actually care about. Instead of one fixed layout, you choose which widgets to show, where they go, and how big they are — and your setup is saved automatically so it's there every time you log in.
What's New?
The dashboard you land on after logging in still looks familiar at first, but it's now fully customizable. You can:
- Add widgets from a widget library covering key sending metrics.
- Arrange and resize widgets to build the layout that works for you.
- Pin custom reports you've built in Metrics straight to your dashboard.
This guide walks through how to set up and use your new dashboard.
Note: If you want to revisit your old dashboard, you’ll see an option to do that at any time using. “Switch to dashboard v1” option at the top of your screen.
Availability
The new dashboard is currently rolling out to accounts on Basic, Foundation, Scale, and Contract plans as part of a public beta. If you don't see the new dashboard yet, it's on its way — we're rolling it out broadly over the coming weeks.
Because this is a public beta, some widgets — particularly for Optimize and Inspect — are still being added to the library. If you have feedback on data you’d like to see, or suggestions you have, please use three dots at the top of your dashboard to select “Dashboard feedback” and send us your ideas.
Making the dashboard yours
To start customizing, select Customize near the top of the dashboard. This puts the page into edit mode and reveals an Add widget button, which opens the widget library.
Adding widgets from the library
The widget library is organized by Mailgun product line, so you can quickly find the metrics that matter to you:
- Send — delivery, bounce, open, click, and unsubscribe rates; a sending overview chart; sending domains; and dedicated IPs. This is the most complete category today.
- Account — account usage against your plan quota and your open support tickets.
- Optimize and Inspect — deliverability and inbox placement widgets are coming soon as the beta expands.
Select any widget to add it to your dashboard. You can add as many as you like and mix widgets from different categories.
Arranging, resizing, and saving your layout
Once you've added widgets, you're free to build the layout around how you work:
- Move a widget by clicking and dragging it anywhere you want on the dashboard canvas.
- Resize a widget by clicking and holding the lower right-hand corner and drag it to your desired size — make the metrics you check most often bigger and easier to scan.
- Repeat until your layout has everything you need, in the order you want it.
- Select Save changes to lock in your new custom layout.
Your saved layout is tied to your individual user account, not your Mailgun account as a whole. That means it will look exactly the same the next time you log in, even after signing out — and if teammates set up their own dashboards, their layouts stay independent from yours.
Getting more detail from a widget
Every widget gives you a quick, at-a-glance number or chart, but you're not limited to the summary view, and you can change it easily over time. Open the dropdown menu on a widget and click “view details” to be brought to a more detailed view in the Reporting > Metrics tab, where you can further customize the report and save your changes.
Pinning a saved report to your dashboard
Any time you build a new custom report using the Metrics reporting tool, or if you’ve already customized a report from your dashboard or right within Reporting, you can now pin it to your dashboard for quick access every time you log in. Just select “Add to dashboard” and the report will shows up as a widget on your dashboard alongside the rest of your layout. From here, you can move it to where you want it and resize it.
Comparing the new dashboard with Classic view
Not ready to fully switch over, or just want to double-check a number against the old layout? Open the dropdown menu and select Classic view to switch back at any time. You can move between the new dashboard and Classic view as often as you'd like — nothing you've customized will be lost.
Sharing feedback
This dashboard is under active development, and your input directly shapes what gets built next. Use the feedback widget in the dropdown menu to tell us what's not working (bugs), what's missing, and which widgets you'd like to see added.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my custom layout if I log out?
No. Your layout is saved to your user profile, so it will be exactly as you left it the next time you log in.
Can other users on my account see or change my dashboard?
No. Each user builds and saves their own dashboard, so teammates' layouts don't affect yours.
Why don't I see Optimize or Inspect widgets yet?
Those widget categories are still being built out during the beta. Send and Account widgets are available now, with more categories coming soon.
What happens to reports I've already saved in Metrics?
Your existing saved reports stay right where they are — with a brand new ability to pin any of them to your dashboard.
